TOPIC: editing interface, adding my "sharethis" button

Hi,

this seems to be the defining question for me in using this software or not - how can I edit the event page layouts? I'm trying to match an old system I used to use to keep my users from getting lost, keeping the interface in the same order and calling fields the same thing are crucial. Also I'm a big supporter of a location item that allows a new calendar view for each state. (I'm thinking this could maybe work as a duplicate of the category field, selecting a state (or all states) and all categories for each view, but I'm no database expert)

(my prototype calendar layout)

Also, as part of the event interface edit, I'd like to add my "sharethis" button. It would be great to offer users all of those options (secure.sharethis.com/features) but also to track what people are sharing.

I tried the "alternate format for upcoming display" as described here www.zcontent.net/support/zapcalendar-sup...lendar-view-settings but it didn't work for me.

also i meant to ask - was your own shareurl used over "sharethis" for a reason? maybe there's something I'm missing here...

also, i'm wondering about hiring out some customizations. are you available for this kind of work?

thanks so much

Yes, I'm available for custom work. The static list view is the closest display that matches your prototype, but it does not have a location or category coloumn. I'll see what I can do to make this more flexible.

The share URL feature is built-in to Zap Calendar (no external site required). sharethis.com may be supported as a plugin. I'll look into it.

Hi Dan,

I'm SO very excited about your new google maps proximity search! It's something I've been really hoping to be able to implement, as with my national calendar people are really only interested in learning about events they can attend easily.

I'm wondering if this advance will allow the addition of city and state following the event title? (as in my prototype above). Can we call the location from google somehow and push it into a field in the event table to recall this way?

thanks so much for all your amazing work!

There is a location field but it is shown in the event page and in the Google Maps popup window. I am looking at ways to customize the display for the next release, which should help.

so with this recent release (I just upgraded and love the new features!) are we able to add in a city/state in a calendar view? The map helps some, but it would be very helpful sorting through thousands of events with some table-like (list and/or calendar grid) setup of all the important data, like date and location.
